Three wonderful comedians died recently and I would like to take a moment to honor them. George Carlin was the first and least surprising to go. He left us with hours of footage and a long career to look back on. If you ever get the chance check out some of the stuff that he did before he died.

Bernie Mac was the next man to leave this world. He was an upstanding role model for children and adults across the nation. He was most known for his work on the Bernie Mac Show, but he will also be missed as one of the Original Kings of Comedy.

Issac Hayes is the last comedian on the list. Even though it was not what he was most famous for, we will always remember his work on the show South Park, as “Chef”. These men enriched and enhanced our lives. May you rest in peace brothers.

If you don’t know who Usain Bolt is by now then you have been living under a rock, or not watching the Olympics. In any case, Usain Bolt is the first man since the games resumed in 1896 to break the world record in the 100 and 200 meter dashes during the same Olympics. He also ran the third leg of the 4×100 Jamaican relay team that shattered the previous record heal by the American team that included Carl Lewis.

Many theories have been tossed around on the secret of the Jamaican team’s success. Drugs are the number one controversial story, but another has surfaced, slavery. The head coach says that since the Jamaicans have bee through so many slavery revolts that they are genetically predisposed to run faster than other competitors. Many scientists dismiss this theory saying that other races have historically gone through slavery as well. More on this subject as it develops.

Angel Matos of Cuba kicked a referee in the face yesterday after he had been disqualified from a bronze medal Taekwondo match. Obviously not happy with the ruling, he said he thought that the match was rigged and that his opponent had bribed the judge.

Angel and his coach have been banned for life from competing in all championships sanctioned by the World Taekwondo Federation and all information and record of this athlete will be erased. Tough break tough guy!
